This week is supposed to be fanart of my PC from Dragon Age: Origins, but I’m still not done. At 1pm on Sunday.
One of these days, I’ll start earlier in the week on these weekly drawings. To be fair, though, I had started earlier on this one. Changed what I was going to do at the last minute since I needed to really focus on all the foreshortening and background of my initial sketch. A portrait is just easier for me to do (even if I’m having to fight with the foreshortening of her forearm and hand).
So the idea is that she’ll (yes, it is a “she”) be working some lightning magic because that was my fav next to the explodey magic. Watching darkspawn explode all over just tickles me, what can I say. In that sense (a major coloured light source), I’m still working on aspects of art that I need to work on even though I’m sort of pussing out by doing a portrait of a female character. I’m half tempted to just do the drawing and inking today, and trying to “paint” in digitally. It’s not something I’ve noticed recently, but a lot of concept artists work digitally (or mixed). Especially after buying Spectrum 16 yesterday, it’s definitely a medium I should get to know and be comfortable with.
